CAFES
Well, they are all getting going and we now have 4 across the Tonbridge & Malling Borough Cafes are at The Angel Indoor Bowls club in Tonbridge, St Johns Church in Hildenborough, and at Spadework in West Malling The East Malling cafe began last week with a visit from TMBC Mayor, Cllr. Roger Roud and the Mayoress. A list with dates, times and contact details of all cafes is below. I am hopeful that there may be another coming along at St Stephen's church in Tonbridge and I am in discussion with their community engagement lady there. We may get that up and running before Christmas. I have been working to put together a resources box for our cafe volunteers to dip into and it’s getting to be a pretty comprehensive box of activities. If you're a volunteer and want to take the box or dip into it let me know.
I was sad to hear that Pearl, who volunteers at the Bowls Cafe has been in hospital and unwell. She is now away for a few days to recover and we all wish her well. Another volunteer from that cafe, Alicia, has returned to school where she has started in the 6th form at Judd. She hopes to join us for the last half hour each month after school gets out and we shall be glad to see her and wish her luck with her A level studies.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
Hold the following dates:
The Tonbridge Rotary Christmas festival is on Sunday November 28th, when the High Street will be closed to traffic to host a Christmas market. Live music and then fireworks at around 6pm. The town will be very busy and knowing that some people who live with dementia may find that a bit overpowering we will have our gazebo on river walk just along the riverside past HSBC bank. We will have chairs and one of our volunteers there throughout the day to provide a safe and quiet space for any of you who just need to take a break from the hustle and bustle.
St John's Church Hildenborough will be hosting a dementia friendly carol service on at 11am on Wednesday December 8th. Everyone is welcome.
